Overview: What an amazing concept. Picking out and purchasing fully grown, mature trees for your home online. But would it really work? People buy cars online. People pick out homes online. So why not buy your trees online and have them shipped and planted right in your front or back yard. Chris Harfod, owner and founder of iTrees.com saw this vision and came to The Ocean Agency to help get the word out and that's just what we did.
Challenge: Chris did have a website but it didn't communicate the iTrees concept clearly, making the ecommerce system confusing for users. Therefore, the power of the iTrees brand and the brilliance and value of the overall concept became lost in the shuffle. Therefore, our challenge was to clearly communicate the iTrees concept while building an ecommerce site that was user-friendly, efficient, and elegant, just like the iTrees landscaping solutions.
Solutions: The first thing on our list was to rebrand Itrees.com. The current identity just didn't deliver the story or the message. Our designers quickly went to work designing the new concept while our marketing team spent time delivering a new iTrees slogan, "Start Planting Online". With an identity that really captured the energy and innovation of the Itrees concept we started developing the Itrees online experience. A successful website meant doing a few different things. Communicating the Itrees concept while creating a well organized, userfriendly purchasing experience. With the new Itrees.com up and running we mapped out and implemented a SEO and online marketing stratgey that would get Itrees.com to the top of major search engines for anyone looking for trees or landscaping companies in the Chicago-land area.
Results: So far so awesome. (Have a look) The new itrees website and brand is really starting to grow. (haha, get it? "Grow" ...nevermind) Not only does iTrees.com express the core concept extremely well, it provides a simplistic overall ecommerce experience. Much like a well-designed landscape, each element of iTrees.com works in harmony to create a holistic brand experience that consumers enjoy. Although it's only been a couple months, the relaunch of the site has resulted in a continual increase in website traffic and conversions as the site's users found it simple to understand and take a next step with Itrees.
